On February 16, 2011, a brand new church began meeting in urban Southeast Portland, Oregon - hopecity church, "a place to investigate Jesus and find hope without the hype."
Pastor Brian Becker says of this new church plant, "We are specifically launching here due to the overwhelming amount of people who are far from God and have no hope. Our new community is known for its dying church, but we believe that our God will bring life back with a healthy and vibrant expression of the gospel. Rather than running away, we're running in." The school that they are using for services has over 70% of its students coming from single-parent homes. The need is great...but God is greater!
Pastor Rollie has had a desire to partner with a church plant for some time. After meeting Pastor Brian and hearing his vision and well-thought-out strategy, he knew this would be a great partnership/ Trinity began supporting Hopecity in March 2011.
